    Founded in 1910, ASBO International is a professional association of around 6,000 school business management professionals. Our mission is to provide programs and services to promote the highest standards of school business management practices, growth, and the effective use of educational resources. ASBO is a network of professionals providing knowledge, influence, and solutions.

    Knowledge
    At the very core of the ASBO International experience is the vast amount of knowledge that can be gained through professional development opportunities. Each month, our full-color magazine, School Business Affairs, is packed with in-depth articles on vital issues. Accents Online, our bi-weekly newsletter, serves as the prime vehicle for delivering information about happenings in the profession. Our Annual Meeting & Exhibits is an unparalleled value that covers all levels of school business management

    Influence
    The public, legislatures, regulatory agencies, and other education organizations look to ASBO International for expertise and a better understanding of the business side of schools. Many of our programs, like the Meritorious Budget Awards and the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting, are changing the ways schools do business. Through its 14 Professional Committees that cover everything from Accounting to Food Service and Transportation, ASBO International offers every school business official an opportunity to get involved, voice their opinions, and have an impact on the profession.

    The Association of School Business Officials International is a professional association which provides programs and services to promote the highest standards of school business management practices and professional growth, and the effective use of educational resources.

    What are ASBO's Goals?

    The primary goals of ASBO International are to enhance the profession of school business management, to improve the performance of the public and private school districts in which they work, and to assist these administrators and their districts to deal effectively with the changing environment in which schools operate.

    Another goal of the Association is to provide a forum for the exchange of information and ideas among professionals. An important objective is to keep legislative bodies, governmental agencies and other members of the educational community informed of the Association's position on key issues relating to the administration of the educational enterprise.
