ASBO Announces New "International Aspects" Committee
If ASBO is to truly be an “International” Association, we must be able to meet the needs and differences of all of our members. In the past, we have attempted to provide our International Members with programs, services and opportunities that would be relevant to their school systems and jurisdictions.
Recognizing that we have only begun to scratch the surface of representing our international members' needs, the Board of Directors voted unanimously to create an additional Professional Committee. This committee will be the International Aspects Committee, representing our international members' needs by providing an International Program Track for the Annual Meeting as well as other areas of opportunity for the global community in ASBO International.
As ASBO has already identified itself as an international association, we find that there are numerous advantages and challenges to international representation. This committee will be presented with the challenge of furthering our International Mission.
The Board has appointed Guy Richard of Canada as Chair, and Trevor Summerson of the United Kingdom as Vice Chair of the International Aspects Committee. The Committee will meet for the first time at the 2006 Annual Meeting in Pittsburgh.
We are seeking volunteers for International Aspects Committee membership. If you or someone you know may be interested in serving on this Committee, please complete a committee application and fax it to ASBO headquarters.
