Selection Process

An independent panel of judges evaluates the applications and chooses the four most-qualified candidates as finalists. ASBO staff and ASBO members are not permitted to serve on the selection panel.

Finalists are notified and must travel to ASBO International headquarters in Reston, Virginia, for individual interviews with the selection panel. Travel to Reston is reimbursed by ASBO, and requires one overnight stay in the Reston area.

Approximately one week after the interviews, the judges complete their selections and name the International Eagle Award and the three Distinguished Eagle Award recipients.
