Important Dates for the 2017 Eagle Awards
July 24, 2017 – Eagle finalists must travel to Reston, Virginia, on Monday, July 24 for final interviews, which take place on Tuesday, July 25. All travel, hotel, and meal expenses are reimbursed by ASBO International.
September 22–25, 2017 – Eagle Award recipients receive complimentary registration to attend ASBO International’s Annual Meeting & Expo, September 22–25, 2017 in Denver, Colorado, where they will be presented their Eagle Awards during the First General Session.
Travel expenses to and from Denver, hotel, and meal expenses during the Annual Meeting are the responsibility of the Eagle Award recipients.
July 10–14, 2018 – Eagle Award recipients receive all-expenses-paid attendance (travel and hotel included) at the 2018 Eagle Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, July 10–14, 2018.
Eagle Awards Eligibility Requirements
Eagle Award candidates must be active members of ASBO International.
Each candidate must be employed full-time as a school business official; candidates nearing retirement must be employed full-time as of June 1, 2017.
Previous Distinguished Eagle Award recipients may only be considered for the International Eagle Award.
Current members of the ASBO International Board of Directors are not eligible.
An independent panel of judges evaluates the applications and selects four candidates as finalists. ASBO International staff and Board board members do not serve on the selection panel. Finalists are notified and must travel to ASBO International headquarters in Reston, Virginia, for individual interviews with the selection panel. Travel to Reston is reimbursed by ASBO and requires one overnight stay. Approximately one week after the interviews, the judges complete their selections and name the recipients.
