Who Should Apply?

School business officials with five years of experience or less who want to expand their professional network, skills, and leadership abilities.

Nominate yourself or a colleague! Know a school business leader who shows initiative and a passion for school business management? When nominating someone other than yourself, please work with the nominee to put together the most competitive application. Applicants are not required to be members of ASBO International or an ASBO affiliate.

How to Apply

Download the 2015 Emerging School Business Leaders Scholarship application.

Include the following with your application:

  • One-page letter briefly stating why you are applying and the contributions you will bring to the program and to ASBO International.
  • Letter of recommendation from your supervisor or superintendent.
  • Resume, including professional responsibilities and credentials, involvement in professional associations (including ASBO International and your state ASBO affiliate, if applicable), and a list of your publications, presentations, and awards.
  • Responses to the following short-answer questions (limit 100 words):
    1. What motivated you to become a school business official?
    2. In what ways have you demonstrated your commitment to the profession?
