The Value of Membership

"I could not have survived 30 years in school business without the support I've received from ASBO. No matter how much you may think your problem is unique, it's not. I've always found support from colleagues facing the same issues no matter where they work, and I've shared solutions. We have a lot to learn from one another, so I value my memberships in Tri-State ASBO, New Hampshire ASBO, Vermont ASBO, and ASBO International."

Emerging School Business Leaders Scholarship

Who Should Apply?

School business officials with five years of experience or less who want to expand their professional network, skills, and leadership abilities.

Applicants are not required to be members of ASBO International or an ASBO affiliate.

Eligibility

Applicants must have been in the profession for five years or less as of June 1, 2018. This includes combined time in present and previous positions in current and other school districts.

Membership with ASBO International or ASBO affiliate is not required. If a recipient is not currently an ASBO International member, the ASBO International membership fee will be deducted from the $2,000 scholarship.

Applicants must be currently employed full-time in the school business profession. This includes finance and accounting, purchasing, food service/nutrition, risk management, transportation, facilities, and other positions that fall under the school business office purview.

Once selected, scholarship recipients are required to complete their online profile in the Global School Business Network and participate in the community created for Emerging School Business Leaders Scholars.

The Emerging School Business Leaders Scholarship may be earned only once and may not be combined with another ASBO International scholarship offer.

Selection Process

A selection panel reviews all applications for completeness and eligibility confirmation. Each application packet is carefully reviewed to determine who best exemplifies the school business leaders of tomorrow.
