DR. FRED HILL DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD

The Dr. Fred Hill Distinguished Service Award represents ASBO International’s most distinguished form of recognition, honoring individuals whose nationally significant contributions have profoundly shaped the school business profession or advanced the mission of ASBO International. Reserved for moments when truly exceptional service is identified, this award reflects the Association’s deepest respect for leadership that leaves a lasting and transformative legacy.

AWARDS BACKGROUND

Originally established as the Distinguished Service Award, this honor was renamed in 2005 to commemorate Frederick W. Hill, Ed.D., RSBA, 1964 ASBO International President affectionately known as “Mr. ASBO.” Dr. Hill’s visionary leadership, unwavering commitment to professional excellence, and lifelong dedication to public education exemplified the highest ideals of ASBO International and the school business profession

Today, the Dr. Fred Hill Distinguished Service Award stands as a rare and meaningful distinction, celebrating service that not only advances the profession but elevates it for generations to come.

A RARE AND DISTINGUISHED HONOR

The Dr. Fred Hill Distinguished Service Award is not presented annually. It is conferred solely at the discretion of the ASBO International Board of Directors, and only when an individual’s contributions are deemed to be truly extraordinary in scope, impact, and enduring significance. This intentional selectivity preserves the integrity of the award and underscores the exceptional nature of those who receive it.
