SCHOOL BUSINESS OFFICIALS RECOGNIZED FOR INNOVATIVE DISTRICT PROGRAMS

Reston, VA – June 24, 2014 – In recognition of their outstanding practices and innovative ideas that have enhanced their schools and the lives of their students, the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) is proud to announce the recipients of the 2014 Pinnacle Awards.

This year’s Pinnacle of Excellence Award is presented to Alita McCoy Zuber, assistant superintendent for business for the Ossining (NY) Union Free School District for her efforts to engage the community in ensuring the district’s financial health and the success of its students. Zuber will receive $5,000, Virco furniture for her school valued at $5,000, an all-expenses paid trip to the ASBO International Annual Meeting & Expo in Kissimmee, Florida, and a crystal Pinnacle award.

The 2014 Pinnacle of Achievement Award winners, each of whom will receive $1,000 and a crystal Pinnacle award at the ASBO Annual Meeting & Expo in Kissimmee, are:

  • Bill C. McGuire, CBO, deputy superintendent of administrative services, Twin Rivers Unified School District, McClellan, CA, for his success in bringing a community together to pass two bond measures in two years—including one with a unique technology endowment.
     
  • Deborah M. Randazzo, director of internal compliance for the Cobb County School District in Marietta, GA, for implementing a self-service approach to online training that has increased efficiency in the district’s financial services department.
     
  • Jeffrey M. Solomon, RSBA, director of finance and operations for Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan Public Schools in Rosemount, MN, for leading the development of an online fee management system that streamlined district business processes.

The Pinnacle Awards are presented annually to four school business administrators who have implemented and innovative practices to improve the efficiency of schools and school districts and make a difference in the education of young people.
