2014 SCHOOL BUSINESS OFFICIALS OF THE YEAR ANNOUNCED

Reston, VA – August 4, 2014 – The Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) congratulates the 2014 Eagle Award recipients for their dedication to students and commitment to leadership and fiscal responsibility. The Eagle Awards are the highest honor ASBO International bestows upon its members.

Doug Virgil, Ed.D., SFO, assistant superintendent for business services for the Alhambra Elementary School District No. 68 in Phoenix, Arizona, is the International Eagle Award winner. As the International Eagle Award recipient, Virgil will receive a $5,000 college scholarship to present to a high school student.

The Distinguished Eagle Award recipients are:

  • Vincent J. Christakos, assistant superintendent for business services, Hemet Unified School District, Hemet, California
     
  • James R. Westrum, CPA, RSBA, CSRM, SFO, executive director of finance and business services, Wayzata Public School District 284, Wayzata, Minnesota
     
  • Nancy White, treasurer/chief school business officer, Morgan County Schools, Berkeley Springs, West Virginia

Each will receive a $2,500 college scholarship to present to a high school student.

Formal presentation of the awards will take place on September 20 at ASBO International’s 2014 Annual Meeting & Expo in Kissimmee, Florida.
