ASBO INTERNATIONAL BOARD ELECTION RESULTS

Reston, VA – September 4, 2014 – The Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) is pleased to announce the election of its new board members. Joining the ASBO International Board of Directors are:

Vice President: Brenda Burkett, CPA, CSBA, SFO, chief financial officer for Norman Public Schools in Norman, Oklahoma.

Board Director: Avery Embry, MBA, chief school financial officer for Talladega County School System in Talladega, Alabama.

Board Director: David Peterson, Ed.D., J.D., SFO, superintendent for Scottsdale Unified School District in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The members of the board, elected by the membership, help guide the association in fulfilling its mission and advocate for their colleagues and fo r the school business management profession.

“These school business leaders represent school systems from across the United States and are some of the top business minds in education ad ministration today,” John D. Musso, executive director of ASBO International, said. “They bring a passion for education and a commitment to guiding ASBO and the school business profession toward its goal of ensuring education resources are used effectively to provide the highest quality education for our youth.”

The newly elected officials will be sworn in at the 2014 Annual Meeting & Expo in Kissimmee, Florida, later this month and will begin their tenure in January 2015.
