Important Dates for the 2019 Eagle Awards
Mid-June 2019 – An independent selection panel chooses the Eagle Award recipients. (ASBO International staff and board members do not serve on the selection panel.)
Late June – Applicants are informed of their award status.
Late June – mid July – Recipients must be available to submit a video-recorded interview during this time. (Detailed guidance, equipment, and instructions will be provided.)
October 25–28, 2019 – Eagle Award recipients receive complimentary registration to attend ASBO International’s Annual Meeting & Expo, in National Harbor, Maryland, where their attendance at the following events is required:
- October 26: First General Session, Eagle Awards presentation
Attendance at the rehearsal for the First General Session is also required, and will take place either Friday afternoon or early Saturday morning.
- October 26: Eagle Awards Reception and pin presentation
- October 26: Eagle Awards Dinner
Travel expenses to and from National Harbor (nearby airports include DCA, IAD, and BWI), hotel, and meal expenses during the Annual Meeting are the responsibility of the Eagle Award recipients.
TBD July 2020 – Eagle Award recipients receive complimentary registration and travel to the 2020 Eagle Institute.
Eagle Awards Eligibility Requirements
Eagle Award candidates must be active professional members of ASBO International.
Candidates must be full-time school business officials as of June 1, 2019.
Previous Distinguished Eagle Award recipients may only be considered for the International Eagle Award.
Current members of the ASBO International Board of Directors are not eligible.
