ASBO International Response to COVID-19 In addition to sharing information and resources to support our members during this difficult time, ASBO International is working with our Legislative Advisory Committee, education coalition partners, and federal officials to advocate for flexibilities and assistance for schools impacted by COVID-19

The Value of Membership

"I could not have survived 30 years in school business without the support I've received from ASBO. No matter how much you may think your problem is unique, it's not. I've always found support from colleagues facing the same issues no matter where they work, and I've shared solutions. We have a lot to learn from one another, so I value my memberships in Tri-State ASBO, New Hampshire ASBO, Vermont ASBO, and ASBO International."

Important SFO Updates!

The current SFO online portal is temporarily offline March 18 – March 22 as the program transitions to a new Prolydian database platform. You may contact certification@asbointl.org for assistance with inquiries or requests. Please “pardon our dust” as ASBO and Prolydian work to smooth the edges and implement complete site functionality. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Public Safety & Response to COVID-19 Concerns
Adhering to guidelines for public safety is first and foremost. This has led to new policies and/or procedures that will allow the ASBO International certification department to fulfill the needs of its certification community with as little disruption as possible. Below are a few changes that go into effect immediately:

  • Temporary Closure of Pearson Vue Test Centers
Pearson VUE has temporarily closed all U.S. and Canada-based Pearson Professional Centers (PPCs) until April 16, or whenever conditions are deemed safe to re-open. Pearson will begin emailing candidate cancellation notices on March 21 and will provide instructions for scheduling new appointments on or after April 16, 2020. A few third-party test centers may remain open (although this is changing daily) and may permit candidates scheduled to test in the next couple of days. Should these test centers close, candidates will receive a cancellation notification.
For more details or updates, please visit https://home.pearsonvue.com/coronavirus-update.

  • Extended Test Eligibility
Due to the uncertainty of the duration of COVID-19, candidates approved to test will be given a one-year extension to schedule and sit for their exam (this includes retesting). Extension fees will be waived.

  • Certificate Printing and Shipping
The mailing of certificates will be discontinued for new SFOs, recertificants, and duplicate requests. Beginning March 23, certificants will have 24/7 access to log into their SFO account and print their certificates.

We put these measure in place to ensure your safety. Other program changes may be made as the certification department continues to monitor this evolving situation. Please contact certification@asbointl.org with any questions or to let us know there is anything we can do to provide assistance. Stay safe and healthy!
